Chinese Ministry of Culture announced this week that it has banned 38 Japanese anime and manga titles, including: Attack on Titan, Death Note, Parasyte and more, from online or print distribution in China.
Senior Ministry official Liu Qiang stated, "The list is the result of evaluations by investigators, reviews by the ministry and the opinions of experts. It aims to guide websites in the proper review and importation of comics and animations."
The titles have been banned because, according to officials, they "include scenes of violence, pornography, terrorism and crimes against public morality" that could potentially incite minors to commit such acts.
The new regulations will require Chinese website proprietors to seek approval before they stream foreign media. Websites hosting the blacklisted content were/will be put under investigation.
The current list of blacklisted titles include:
· Terror in Resonance

· Highschool of the Dead
· Ergo Proxy
